Default 2019 Sevens HPDE - Save the Date for June 28-30, 2019

I thought I would make this a National Event posting given we draw participants from NH, MA, CT, NY, NJ, PA, OH, MO, TX, FL, CO, MD, and VA.

Save the Date - Sevens HPDE - June 28-30, 2019 at NJMP

We had some difficulty this year getting a date scheduled for this year. NJMP has seen significant growth in the Drivers Club membership program. This places pressure on the track time available for a dedicated session like we have been getting in prior years. We evaluated the option of a dedicated track rental and as it stands now we do not have the numbers to make the prices work.

It is likely that this will be the last year of the event unless we get very lucky next year. So if you always wanted to attend and put it off until now then this is likely your last chance.

    Tentative program is:

Friday June 28 - Arrive and set up in pits. 3pm karting competition. 6.00pm drinks around the pool followed by a casual dinner sitting outside by the pool. Pay as you go for food and drinks.

Saturday June 29 - Sevens HPDE session on Thunderbolt Circuit. Breakfast and lunch included. Dinner at Andrea's of Millville -pay-as-you-go and BYO

Sunday June 30 - Sevens HPDE session on Lightning Circuit. Breakfast and lunch included. Clubhouse Dinner.

For those who wish to stay around and there is enough interest then I can arrange a limited test day program on Thunderbolt (Wed 7/3/19 or Thurs 7/4/19) or Lightning (Tues 7/2/19 or Wed 7/3/19 or 7/4/19) for a small group of 3-4 cars - open pit lane format. Let me know by PM quickly if you are thinking of extending your stay and wish to participate.

    Costs are estimated as:
Karting - $60-70 pp Mini GP program with practice and a race plus trophies
HPDE - $250 per car (including driver) per day. Prices have gone up but are still $100-150 per day cheaper than commercial operators
Visitors during the HPDE - NJMP Drivers Club charges $50pp. This covers breakfast, lunch, all refreshments and allows a visitor to accompany an instructor on track. A number of the participants are instructors
Dinners - Depends on what you order and drink. Andreas will likely be around $40 per person. BYO The NJMP Clubhouse will be less - again depending on what you order or drink

If you are thinking of potentially attending then I suggest you make reservations now. Millville is close to the Jersey Shore and as a result accommodation tends to get booked out with high prices. Your basic options for accommodation:

On track property - camping sites (incl power) available for a fee. Pit Suites (motel suites above the Thunderbolt pits), Villas - 1 to 3 bedroom, ideal for families

In Millville (4-5 miles) - Fairfield Inn, Holiday Inn Express

In Vineland (6-7 miles) - Hampton Inn, Ramada, Springhill Suites, Days Inn

I will post full details once things have come together. Feel free to ask questions by reply here

Tom and I look forward to seeing everyone!

I hope to attend, with my 97 Cat BDR (formerly Stewart's). Glad it's not on Independence Day, as we always have family plans then.

Hope you can join us. You won't even have to steer, your car knows it's way around the track.

I'm going to try my damn best to attend. Have to get some kinks out but I'm scheduling days off and penciling this in.

I'll be coming from Albany area, NY. If anybody wants to Convoy down, let me know!

This is the 9th year of this event. Hopefully not the last, but it could be, as Mike pointed out. Hopefully we will get a turnout significant enough to entice the track to let us continue it.

I'll start the potential attendee list now. If you hope to attend, speak up and I'll add you to the list. Tom

Yeah - typos really annoy me. Fix it or it will be your last!

Funny I did catch that when I posted but my edit obviously did not go through at that time. Mea culpa
