I like step drill bits!

I was wishing to drill a hole for my new battery cut off switch .. and it requires a 1" hole .. so a friend loaned his two step drill bits .. Made the project go so smoothly .. so easy to use! I started with the smaller diameter step bit and then used the larger bit to get the right size! Now I have a perfect hole size for my cut off switch. Very pricy though .. glad he had them for me to borrow!

also called unibits. They do work great

They are the BEST way to make round holes in thin sheet metal. They work grat on thicker stuff too.
