Just got back from another track weekend. This time it was the South Course at VIR. The video was taken by a friend of mine from trackside to give a different perspective. My in-car setup screwed up, so I got nothing there...

I cried when the Porsche passed you. Was it a GT3?

Yes, it was a GT3. We played for a few laps (that you can't see in the video). Once when I was behind him we had a straight up drag race down the main straight...I was able to keep up almost until I ran out of gear. He was fast enough to pull away just a little bit each lap. Once I get the car sorted a little better and get some tires with more grip under it, it should be a better fight.

In the part that we could see, he only nipped you at the end of the straight, so I figured you ran out of gear. Good stuff. See you in just a few months.

Thanks for the comments. I really am having a great time with the car right now. It is the happiest any "thing" has made me for a long time. :)

The lucky passenger was one of my fellow instructors, Mark. He had been bugging me for a ride and I finally gave in. I genreally like to get folks (especially the students) out for some sessions in my car. But since the locost is brand new, I wanted to get some time on it and prove that is was safe and reliable before strapping someone into the passenger seat. After a few weekends, I guess I have arrived at that point now. Only bad thing is, I am afraid that I will have to turn some folks away...I can't take that weight penalty for every session. :)
