Apart from the obvious (your seven)... I'm packing basic tools, spare throttle cable, gaffer tape, tie wraps and cameras. Also, as I'm driving down in the seven, I've added a new accessory (it's never too early to start accessorising as my wife is fond of saying). I've done a long run in July before and it gets damned hot in these cars  so plenty of fluids are needed. The standard CamelBak fits nicely between the seats on my Cat and the drinking tube is just where I want it. Sweet.

At this point, it looks like I'll drive the Seven, wife and kids will be in the van. We'll bring down a tow dolly, just in case something goes wrong with my car, or someone else's, or if there is crazy rain on the way.

I'll have simple hand tools in a little plastic toolbox. Every time I use a wrench, socket, screwdriver, etc..., I toss it in there, so I know all the tools I need are at hand :)

Other than that, head phones, water, helmet, and a smile.

I generally keep a bottle of water between the seats,
but I was thinking of adding a cupholder for a 64 oz Big Gulp

A note on alcohol...and no, I'm not going all temperance on you.

For those staying at Tapoco, they sell beer and wine out of the Lodge. They owners have asked that we use them for our onsite group beer and wine needs (which I think is fair). If you wanted to bring some beer for your personal "on the porch of your cabin" consumption, that's fine too. Full on keggers I think are not. Of course, should anyone want to bring some scotch or other mixed drink elements, they are totally open to that since they don't carry it.

I think an informal microbrew exchange would be a very cool activity...perhaps for Sunday night after the auto-x? Up at Fontana before/after a final ad hoc group dinner?

Of course, I need not remind folks that drinking and driving don't mix.

Yesterday, while sorting through the stuff I'm bringing down for 7-7-7 (my helmet, check; wife's helmet, check; kids helmet, check...), I thought of two things that would be great to have...if someone else had them:

• Air compressor...AC/DC for tires (not impact wrenches!)
• Vacuum cleaner (those pebbles in the cockpit certainly accumulate quckly, no?)

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

I will try to remember both the shop vac, and the portable air compressor / battery charger / jumper

:iagree: You know, it's actually a bit surreal for me that it's just a week away. And now that all the swag is coming in and real ads from real companies that I've got to put into the event booklet...whew! Let's just say that my co-workers here have been very very understanding.

Thanks again to everyone for their support and interest over the past year!
