Help me here.

I know there are a ton of different types of cars out there, but is there one person who is considered the ultimate guru of all things Se7en here in the US?

If not, I would love to know people's thoughts on who might be the guru of each particular marque.

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

I suppose by now I know a fair bit about Rotus' history, and whatever I don't know, I can get from various people from the company's past.

Is this going to turn into some sort of an American Idol type of thing? http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/smile5.gif <edited><editID>R1 Seven</editID><editDate>2007-04-19 14:45:56</editDate></edited>

Or perhaps I'm fishing around for a speaker or two? http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif

I have two of Dennis Ortenburger's books, "The Legend of the Lotus Seven" and "Lotus Seven and the Independents". I would think with the research he has done on those two books, he would be a wealth of knowledge for all things Se7en. I think he lives in California, and was building a Locost if I remember correctly. Not sure if he is a member or lurker here though...

Chris in MA has a great deal of time/grade on the cars.

Woody in CA certainly knows a lot.

Chip Bond in VA is in the running.

And probably another 10-20 guys around the country that I don't even know.

Locally David L is an encyclopedia of 7 autocross applied knowledge---gained over 25 years of trying to go faster in a 7.

The guy @ Dave Bean and the restorer in Santa Barbara are also worthy of mention.

And Nathan @ RMSCI is especially helpful on Caterhams.

I'm siure that the rest of you can come with more names than I just did.

Dennis O. was one of the first people I approached (via his publisher) regarding speaking. He politely declined.

Since I think most of our time at 7-7-7 will be spent driving and socializing, I'm not so much interested in a Keynote type speaker as much as a few folks to host info sessions/participate in roundtable discussions.

Actually, a funny one might be BECs vs. Car Engines...with Jeff and Mazda squaring off!

I'll second Nathan at RMSCI. He'd be pretty interesting if you let him loose.

And speaking of Keith, he did "write the book" on Lowcosts and now is becoming a Westy expert.
