Getting ready for the One Lap of America next month. We decided to do a power up grade. We went the Vortec supercharger with aftercooler that is designed for the S2000 engine. We are going to be running 9 pounds of boost and this is all controlled with AEM programmable ecu. Hope to get about 130 hp increase with the combination. http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070410_183254_DSC01550.JPG

HOOO BOY !!!!

You can never have too much horsepower!!!

It looks like a good fit. There is lots of room in front of the engine, did you have to fabricate special brackets, and did you have to move any original frame rails or fittings?

No Jerry the only thing I had to do was notch part of the braket where the front diagnal support is. Everything else looks like it should fit. It just clears the hood with a 3/16 to spare. The little radiator that is for the intercooler will have to be mounted on the bottom there is no room in the front for it. But I am putting a 1650 cfm 10" fan on it for cooling. Dyno tuning next week. Hope it all works out like I expect.

Sounds great. Do you have to change the injectors, or will they handle the extra horsepower?

With the aftermarket computer , are you going to change the rpm when the VTEC kicks in, or leave it alone?

Jerry I am running the RC Engineering 650cc injectors. With the AEM we can change nearly all aspects of the tune. I know that timing and vtec movement is a big advantage. We will be trying to do some launch control stuff too. You can program the ecu to limit rpm until certain speed is reached. That was at the drags you can floor it and it will only go to 4k rpm until 15 mph is reached it will then start to dial in full power as you go. It will help get the car out of the hole (hopefully) It should be a real rush. I think I should be able to get in mid 11s on street tires if all goes as planned. With slicks i think we will be in the 10s. Thats pretty quick for a non drag car. It has been tough getting all that stuff in there. The supercharger and intercooler fit fine its finding room for the spare water resivoir fluid pump and second radiator that is the challenge. I worked on it for 22 hours yesterday and got alot done. I got the car started and the master cylinders changed out. I still need to swap diffs. bleed brakes install new pads. install sway bar and fab some brackets for that make a new battery mount and get it all ready to go to the dyno on the Wens. I just hope that I havent overlooked something small. I will shoot some video when we make some dyno runs and post it on the site.
