I've just registered on this forum for the purpose of selling my Caterham. I have pictures but can't discover how to post them so give me a call and I can email them to you.

This car was built in 1989 by me following the excellent assembly manual. It has a 1600 cc ford cortina engine with a crossflow head that was built by Dave Bean in calif. who still builds lotus engines and has a vast array of parts available. This engine produces about 110 hp. The transmission is a 5 speed Merkur XR4ti. The complete top and side curtains are stored in the boot. It is black vynl. The seats are soft tan leather and were chosen because I’m 5 ft. 11 in. tall and needed the room. The body is unpainted alluminium with unpainted black fiberglass fenders and nose. The wheels are panasports with soft compound Yokohama A008R tires. 185/60-R14.
Has a deDion rear axle.

During the build, the hood was sitting separately when the ‘89 earthquake hit and a speaker fell on it causing damage. I’ve never replaced it. (I've always intended to put fuel injection on it and buy a new hood.) Otherwise there is no damage to report. The only modification is a fresh air tube to try and cool the drivers footwell.

It had been driven about once a month until 1997 and has been occasionally started since then. Has a Calif. non-op license. I've never checked the gas mileage but it should be great considering the weight. 0 to 60 time is about 6 sec. and a little over 2034 miles on the odometer. This could be turned into the sexiest economy car on the street with a modern fuel injection system.

A new Caterham sells for over $40,000 my price is $20,000 OBO.
