I'd like to know who's bringing a car with video camera rig to the Tail of the Dragon meet...I am. Would be great to get a bunch of footage and piece together a vid for attendees (I looked into getting it professionally done and the cost was a bit prohibitive).

Here's my rig:

Sony Mini-DV Camera

No bullet cam

Stereo mikes under dash

i/o port racing bracket mounted on roll bar support

I will. At the very least, I'll have my current camera setup.

If I get all the mods done in time, I might have a multi-camera setup installed (fore and aft)

I will have my setup for sure. But, as you know, I can only provide autocross footage. An event video is a great idea.

What about the camera setup that pivots / turns with the front wheels?

Working prototype is sitting right here, but I figure I gotta work on the front suspension first http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif

I am, mine is low tech Sony 8mm clamped on the dash. Tested it on a 20 min ride, picture is good, sound is good, you can hear conversation clear until rpms are over 7k.

I wanted to shoot video of all the rides then clamp the camera to the dash and do the Dragon.

Can we borrow a vhs recorder from Tapaco,

then record the footage and play it at Saturday nights dinner? Get 2, we can copy for those that want them.

I realized a DVD with backgound music is great but I'd like to see all the different points of view everybody recorded and edit them at home later.

I'm not a vid hobbyist so I won't volunteer but you can copy the footage I take if you want.

Any other folks bringing cams and or cam mounts? I just bought a triple suction cup mount so we can get some down low "fenders that turn" footage, but primarily I think I'm going to have one rollbar mounted facing backwards (if I'm near the front) or forward (if I'm near the rear).

Would be great to get vid of every sortie...have a camera car on every drive. Oh also, Mini DV is preferable...makes it easier to digitize and download/upload.

I've spent so much of my time working on the car, I think my trick setup with turning camera will stay at home. I will have my usual roll bar setup at the event. It can be pointed in whatever direction.

i'll probably be bring my sony vx2000 down. not settled on which video mount, so i may buy both. 1 mounts on the roll bar, the other will be above the boot.
I have a jvc miniDV/SVHS deck at home so i can do lossless miniDV dubs with my firewire cable when i get home.

i've seen teh suction cup mount. i'm a bit wary. also, because of our fenders, the vision may be blocked.
