Mazda, I posted you back.

Brings back great memories. I made six ads for Shell/Ferrari in the late 90's. About as good as paid work gets http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/thumbsup.gif

Fabulous ad. Just saw it posted over on the Autosport forums. I am a fan of how modern F1 engines sound (esp the V10's), but there's a character to the older engines that modern engines just can't touch.

The other engine I heard a few years ago that blew my mind was a small-block in an original GT40. It was not at full chat rather at a concours in Cincinnati, but the owner fired it up and gunned it a few times. Sounded like no other V8 I've ever heard. Totally different from highly built muscle-car motors and drag motors.   http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/coolgleamA.gif

We actually made a soundtrack using the sounds of Ferrari engines - old V12's for the bass, newer V10's for the high notes, and everything else in between. Came out pretty well - wish I'd kept a copy. You could get CD's in the stores in Modena and Maranello of nothing but Ferrari engines being revved, so we gave a bunch of these to an engineer and composer and got our track. Sweet music.

Just read that this is rumored to be the most expensive commercial ever made at over $2 million. I can believe it.

That is great.

I especially like the cab drivers reaction and the cook in Japan and the gal in Rio.

I just wonder if the F1 bumping the barrier was staged or photoshoped and if it was real then that is one hell of a driver but I guess if you are running an F1 car on the street like that you would be one of the best.

Great commercial.
