We made it as far as grand forks with just a few rain falls to dodge..the car is running good, the motor got a bit heated at one stage. Nothing to do with the way I was driving!!! On to Vancouver today, yesterday was a total of 9 hours, today a bit less, who says you can't be comfy in these awesome machines, we are having a blast..

Bet the "heated" section was going up the Salmo pass, at least you could coast down (in gear of course) the other side. Sounds as though you are enjoying it. Keep us posted.

I just realized that it could have been called something like the "7 BC primitive tour".

Nothing primitive about this tour. It's in one of the most expensive real estate areas in N.A. Quite a spectacular area actually. Just spent all afternoon making sure the driving directions were reasonablly accurate, don't want to loose any 7s along the way.
Steve, glad to here the car is reasonably comfortable for long hauls.

15 cars in attendance, only one minor breakdown during the event (fuse malfunction). Mine broke down enroute to the event (sensor malfunction), but I got there ok.

Bloody cold on the Pennask Summit (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pennask_Summit) on the way home.
More to be posted, I'm sure.

Is that an Alfa grill I see at 34 seconds?
SkinnyG

Not only an Alpha grill, bit a complete Alpha drivetrain, including rear-mounted tranny (if I have that correct).

Thanks for the video Greg.
Yeah, the "Alfa7" was one of the cars I wanted to see. It's a complete Alfa drivetrain plus grill, rear lights and front lower wishbones.
His build site on LocostUSA, is cfv23844, last updated July 23rd. Page 2 shows an interior shot before the transaxle was covered up. He really had to work at getting the Alfa stuff to fit in but he did a great job. It lives up to the name "Alfa7".

Still touring the island, we now have a new battery, have to expect these minor hiccups. The car is running pretty good even with altitude difference, the wife is running pretty good to........the bags we got for the trip are perfect, easy to attach and remove and lots of storage for the trip. Will post pics once we get home. Off to check out a Cidery today, I promise to be a good boy and not sample to much of the produce.

Thanks to all who attended for fulfilling a dream I have had since I was 18 years of age, one more off the bucket list. Great to meet you all and look forward to the next time.

The North Shore News sent out a photographer for our meet but nothing appeared until now.
Some good detail shots of cars.
The rains are setting in, the number of good car days left is decreasing rapidly, enjoy them while you can.

hey b2, next year we should try to set it up so that we meet at some point and pick up any other sevens along the way. Land sakes, we got us a Convoy..

B2, send me your email and I'll add you to the Sevens list. ronpayne at telus dot net
Glad to see you're thinking of the next event Steve. I've learned a bit from hosting the "First annual..." so I'll do some things a little differently next year. "Sevenfest 2011" I've got a route planned for the group drive, more local but still involves a mountain to climb.
One thing I want to do is track down some Lotus 7 owners. I'm not sure what's with the Lotus owners group locally or even if they still exist but I'll be making an effort to invite them for the next event.
I think I'll start asking for opinions on a suitable date early in the new year.
Anyone whose not on the list and wants to be contact me and I'll add you.
The rain stopped today so I got in a short spin. :hurray:

Hey Ron
Couldn"t stand it anymore, took "Her Madge" out in the rain yesterday and had a blast, learned a whole lot more about rear end control(the Cars I mean). I am going to drive her up to the last minute of this year, not looking foward to wrapping her away for the winter. really looking foward to the next years get together, let me know if i can be of any help at all. Steve, I could not agree with you more. I know you plan to be there, maybe we can talk Brian into attending.

Chris, if guys can drive all the way from Alberta and Kelowna to North Van. you can catch a 20 mile ferry ride to get here:)
Seriously, I'm hoping to get a few cars from South of the border also and this area is more central for them. So I'm up for hosting "Sevenfest 2011" and after that it'll be someone else's turn. I was thinking that for the Vancouver area people it would be a nice chance for a group drive up to sunny, warm Kelowna, possibly by way of the Duffy lake road. That is if by any chance anyone in Kelowna who happens to own a 7 might volunteer to host an event the next year.
If the first event is held in the first two weeks of July then maybe a jaunt to Kelowna in mid-August might be a possibility as a second event in the same year.
I'll put out a request for preference for dates etc. early in the new year.
To second Steve's comments, yeah, a 7 is a 7. We also allow 11's to be substituted and next year I'm hoping our special "7 for a day" will be "Airframe Fixers" mid-engine BEC.

Now we are cooking, lets keep this going. I feel a mass seven gathering coming on. Whatever it turns out to be, Linda and I will gladly do what we can to help make it a success. More input the better. Ron, you started a good thing here, lets turn up the heat...
