Hello everybody,

Been reading the board for sometime and decided to join and maybe become a 7 owner. Finally at a point when I can buy the car. Of course when you're not ready there seem to be cars for sale everywhere and now I can't find any.

I am really looking for an WCM Ultralite car. I track quite a bit and it seems to be a very well track prepared car that would be very reliable given the Honda powertrain. I'm sure this is a very tight community so if you know of somebody that is considering selling please let me know. I check this board quite often.

Thanks,
Alex.

Welcome, ukrbmw, you are at the right spot to look for an Ultralite, as they pop up occasionally.

You are correct , it is a great track day car, and the Honda engine and transmission are super reliable. I love mine, and all I ever do is change the oil and put on new tires.

You can get a new one from Brian Anderson at
http://www.wcmultralite.com/

I suggest you also join and post on the Yahoo groups Ultralite spot
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Ultralite_USA/

Thanks Jerry! I'm sure you do love yours.

I have thought about a new one, but have seen several cars sell in the 20s and the idea of saving 10K or so is certainly appealing. I guess if all else fails that'll be my last resort. I will certainly join the group!

Yeah,
You've missed the chance on a couple excellent examples over the last year.
I think it's a good move to look at used ones for another reason as well... they have the bugs worked out. If you read this site a lot, it seems all types of 7s need a little shakedown/fine tuning when first put on the road/track. Once done though, it's tough to beat the reliablility/dollar benefits of a S2K... especially a used one.

Hey, stop rubbing it in! But it was crazy, I think I saw several 08 cars sell for low 20s. But, can't dwell on the past. Going to try and see what might be out there!

Your best bet might be to wait and see if anyone wants to get rid of a recent acquisition because it may not be what they expected. The last 3 that I remember (including mine) be resold in a few months of ownership because they were "too fast" and/or trouble with registration.

Unfortunately with only about a 100 cars out there you may have to wait a while for the next one to come along. I was following this board and California Caterham Club for 6 months before a friend told me about the one I ended up buying
