Decided to do a test on the new camera and some lighting late last night in the garage....

Morgan, is the gamma off on my LCD or have u not finished the photo yet or the flourescent light?

It may be your monitor, it is pretty neutral on my corrected monitor

I don't know nuthin bout no Gamma whozits but it looks kinda yellow compared to a past Orange photo. I like the photo though.

hmm, it's orange on both my computers :confused:

I will look into it

Can't really compare photos though, they are taken in different light

The first picture is amazing, but the car is as yellow as a 'naner.

Both photos look very nice thank you! The second shot comes up as more orange on my computer - closer to the actual color I remember from real life.


What new camera did you get? New lens too?

hey Morgan, the 2nd photo more closely matches the color of the car as I remember it too, but for some reason the first photo is more poetic (I realize they're the same photo)

I'm just impressed by how good the photo is.
As an amateur who has tried to get good shots of my car, I am astounded by the lighting that yielded the shot in that garage. :hurray:

What new camera did you get? New lens too?


Nikon D3, my D2x is now the 2nd body/back up. Didn't need any new lenses (yet).

Lighting is done with a fluorescent light wand that I sort of made.

Love the backlighting in the garage!!! Photo with sky is "heavenly"...Makes me wish we didnt just get 2" of snow with 10 more coming tonight!! Drive that car today for all of us snow bound peeps.:auto:
