show me some pics.
I have to replace my 2 point useless roll bar with a real one.
I'll at least do the 4 point with diagonal to meet SCCA specs.
I'd like to know what more could be done without making the car very difficult to get in and out of. Perhaps removable pieces from the roll hoop forward.

Maybe I posted a link already but if you take it serious this is the NASA racing-approved "low front hoop" cage:

John Bowman's Rotus 8 has a 5 point roll bar with cross member.
It's hard to see in this >pic (http://www.usa7s.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=66) but the boy is sitting on the forward member.

I don't want to sound blasphemous or anything but you might consider loggin on to >LoCost Builders UK (http://locostbuilders.co.uk/index.php#) (register then log in), navigate to their quick search window, enter the words "Roll Cage" and then search.
You will get a huge amount of responses.
One that cought my eye was the thread "Big Thanks to MK Developements" ... It sounds quite a bit like what you are looking for.
Here's a few pics:

This with sidebars somewhat like slomove pictured seems like a good idea. This is a Westfield comp bar setup. For street use possibly the two outer top bars could be removeable.

Hmmm. Having the center X-bar to hang from might even make it easier to get in.

Do you want external, like we use on the SCCA EP Caterham, or internal such as used on the Lotus 7s? High or low front hoop? I think the dimensions wouldn't work, but there are some FIA cages that were removed when some of us replaced them with our current cages.

I want something with minimal interference for normal use. There some interesting designs here. My car will rarely see the track, but the current short 2 point bar I have is inadequate even for road use.
If I have a regular 4 point in place, with the rest of the cage as bolt-on, I think that'd be a good compromise.
I want to run the car at the drag strip at least a couple of times to see what she can do - I'll be kicked out after the first real run http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/lol.gif
Alot of good ideas here. Thanks.

I've found that Woody and other folks at MSI Motorsports in Vacaville also have some great ideas with rollbars, and have fabricators with whom they are familiar, to do the work. I'm looking at possibilities for a cage for my SV so would like to hear anything you come up with as well. Good Luck!
