As most of you are aware, we've been plugging away at forming a national club.

I'm happy to say that 2 days ago, we received final word from the IRS on our nonprofit status.

That was the last piece of the puzzle.

There are currently 9 ten-year members:

Mazda Ebrahimi (slngsht)

Jerry Eddens (powderbrake)

Al Navarro

Steve Taylor

Scott Lentz (951n914)

Magnus

Scott Nettleship

JohnCh

MichaelD

(hopefully I didn't miss anyone)

The contributions from these folks have helped pay incorporation costs, 1st year of insurance, and hosting fees for the next year.

The club shopping cart will open the beginning of January. It will be used for paying for memberships and club sponsored events (such as 7/7/7 and the pacific northwest tour).

Currently, Al is serving as President, Jerry (powderbrake) as Secretary, and I'm the treasurer. We are serving temporarily until July, at which point club elections will be held and members can elect club officers.

One note... You will notice starting tonight that google AdSense will appear at the bottom of the page. This will make the club a little bit of money (proceeds go to the club account, and club books are open to club members). The club can earn up to 35% of its revenues from sources other than membership fees, so this will help in keeping fees to a minimum.

Jim, as soon as the shopping cart opens up, you can either purchase a membership seperately, or if you register for 7/7/7, it'll be part of the registration.

The first 78 entries will receive an email in the next day or two regarding registration fees. After the end of January, we'll open the gates to anyone else. I'm not sure how many of the first 78 will take the next step and pay the registration fee.
