Man, this guy is good (and a bit lucky at the beginning)

This was at Mt Panorama in Bathurst, Australia and is a scary crazy circuit at the best of times. To go from 15th to 1st by 2/3rds of the way around the first lap (about 3 miles) is just insane. Having raced touring cars (sort of like nascar) there myself I just know this guy has to have the largest shiniest brass set around.
I want to find out who this star is

I had seen that before... I wish pro racing was half as exciting.

Excellent display of controlled aggression. He gets to the front mostly by out-braking everyone else, rather than by sheer horsepower or by cornering skills.

This driver carry's more speed into the corner, so is faster than the rest out of the corner. The trick is to stay off the brakes, and have the talent that he has.
Must be nice!!!! Steve

either that, or he is running on slicks while everyone else is running bald street tires :)

I had a friend total a "very fast car" trying to go from last to first in 1 lap!
