I had that happen to me back in 1973. Turned a corner in a Triumph TR6 and found myself on a downhill that was solid ice. As I was sliding down a station wagon slid slowly into the intersection at the bottom of the hill, but couldn't find traction to get out of the way. Seemed like it took forever for the inevitable to happen, and it finally did. There was nothing I could do.

Those people getting out of the car are idiots. In slow accidents like that, your safest place is belted in the drivers seat.

I might have if I had thought about it. I braced myself, but still split my lip open on the steering wheel.
