What oil for my MEGABUSA engine?

I have a 2005 Hayabusa engine in my kit car. I have a SBD motorsports dry sump oiling system. Total system capacity is estimated at 7 quarts (sump, tank, lines, and oil cooler). I took off the PAIR valve and the associated plumbing. Westfield included a header and muffler with the motor, so it's really not that modified to start with.

Question is what oil is recommended for the 'Busa motor for lapping day activities and some street duty?

The message forums and locals have me at 2 final options:
1) Amsoil 10w-40 Bike Synthetic
2) Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10w-40

As long as the oils are specifically made for bike engines, you should be OK with just about anyting in the recommended range. I tried some Rotella oil in my R1 Powered track car at first and got some slipping despite having a heavy Barnett coil spring clutch kit. I now run Yamalube only and have no problems.

Seems the masses agreed on Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10w40 synthetic. $9.49/quart at Autozone.

I bought 8 quarts. I hope she don't gulp it all down!

I figure I'll change the oil after every other track day to be safe.

Yikes! The Yamalube is less than $5/qt. I change it after every weekend, but every other would not be bad either.

Motorcycle engines, particularly those with wet clutches have very specific oil needs as they lube the engine, transmission and clutch, and generally don't work well this general automotive oils. Usually clutch slippage is the firsth problem to show up with cam and/or transmission issues being next. I used Silkolene Pro 4 with good results when I raced. They now also have a Pro 4 Plus. At $14/lt and $20/lt respectively, they aren't cheap though. They are ester based synthetic oils which you may or maynot like.

I have used Honda's synthetic blend 10W40 with my turbo Honda Blackbird motor for the past several years. I also have a Barnett carbon fiber clutch set and springs and have no clutch slippage with this oil. Runs about $7 per quart. I would stick with oils blended for bike engines that share the engine oil with the gear box and clutch.

We are using Elf Moto 4XT Tech full synthetic in the Radical SR3 (Busa engine as well) from Performance Oil Store (www.PerformanceOilStore.com). Switched from Silkolene to the Elf and found out the idle smoothed out and the engine ran a bit cooler under load.
