Noob question - - how do you guys create that blue shaded box with some previously posted comment highlighted in it as a quotation in your own posting?

go to the post that you want to quote, and click on the "quote" button.

or, if you want to quote something else, you can put that text between quote tags (the word quote in between [ and ] )
