Shifter Help??

:Need some good ideas on how to build paddle shifter for the BPC- have been looking on the net and have found nothing yet-- anyone have any sites that have good content? I have been thinking a cable type (bowden) but I am not sure how the pivot works on the steering rod as it turns all the time- if anyone has built a shifter that they are happy with I would love to see some pic's if possible

Any help would be great !!

I'm looking for other pictures but can't find them. I'm taking the car out for a ride tomorrow and I can post the new ones. The pictures are self-explanatory and can save a lot of typing. My paddles are linked via rods with a bell crank in between to turn the shift movement 90 degrees. Its easier to find neutral compared with electric or air and much less of a problem.

Here's a page of a very nice Westfield with Carbon Fibre Paddles. ... (Drool!) The article sais they are available from Fluke Motorsport but I can't find them on their site.

Busa is on the ball with this one. I was going to use cables but had the ends and found the rods easier to build. You need a center pivot bar with about a 20 degree bend to reach toward the steering wheel, about 2" from center is the location for the shift rod.
The rod from the tranny to the bell crank is the same rod from the R1 rearset shifter, just flipped foward.

Hey- thanks everyone- that gives me a good (many) ideas to work with- I'm going to have to build my own- very low budget and too much time on my hands these days- but on the up side, I have a lot of time to work on toys
