NorCal 2008 - Sierras to the Sea tour update

We are currently in Weaverville, headed for Fort Bragg this evening.

We've had a couple of minor breakdowns - Chad, myself and Gert. Chad took a nice sized rock the first day - dented a frame member but missed the sump.:eek: :d

Yesterday was HOT - 107 in Redding - All of us were suffering - except for Stan who has a "cool shirt" system (that was smart!).

It looks like a lot of new pavement has been laid down this summer. How are the roads?

107 degrees?? I bet you wish you still had your 1/2 hood yesterday ;) Today is the run down to the sea, so the temps should be much cooler. Looking forward to seeing the next round of photos.

Yes, my Cool Shirt turned out to be a great idea for this tour. Yesterday I drove nearly 700 miles from Fort Bragg to home in Victorville via Dixon, and the temps were well over 100 degrees most of the afternoon. It took me about 12 hours driving time, and I could not have done it and lived without the shirt! Here is their web site where you can see what the system is and how much it costs:

Yes, I use the most complicated, technically advanced camera mount in existance. Here's a pic of the mount in action:

I think Gert and Chad were the only two with video mounts, the rest of us used my method :)

I love the features on that mount!

Such as:
- Random anti-jitter/jitter-inducing system!
- Ability to work in virtually every situation/application, except when both hands are needed.
- Works with any camera, even video!

And, of course, the price can't be beat!
