There is SO MUCH work to be done yet, but it was nice to take her for a spin.
The vid is pretty boring, other than if you're wondering if my son will make it out alive - you know with exposed exhaust on one side, exposed driveshaft on the other, and feet on loose battery. I think he enjoyed the ride. Now it's time to get started on all the "little stuff" that will make it more like an actual car. I do like the raw look of it though... a little Mad Maxish.

Cover the drive shaft. Mount the battery. Leave everything else as is, and scare the beejeezez out of everyone else on the road.

Hay Mazda,
That is great. I know your still smiling from ear to ear.
I at first though I was going to have to turn my monitor sideways to watch the vid and was relived that I did not have to due that.
Are those the new mufflers as they sound good...just enough rumble to let people know something special is coming and going by.

Martin,
Yes, those are new. Moroso mufflers. they weigh 4 lbs and I'm happy with the sound so far
http://www.jegs.com/i/Moroso/710/94051/10002/-1
When you look inside, they are the typical auger style muffler... about 1" or 1.5" straight through hole in the middle, and a spiral pattern on the outside.
I asked my neighbors (we are all good friends) and they like the mufflers. They don't hear the car in their living rooms when i'm idling anymore
I have no idea how restrictive they are on power. won't find out anything on power stuff until a dyno session, which is not a high priority for me right now.

Mazda, everyone warns me what I’m exposing my grandson to. They are afraid he will be a speed freak like me. My son was exposed to all of that as well as teaching him acro and formation flying at an early age. My son turned out ok and is normal. Unlike you after he got his E.E. he lost his interest in cars and aircraft. Can you imagine a Honda sedan?
I’m glad to see your wife like mine is supportive of your illness. With mine our agreement was I could have anything W/O a pulse.

I am not sure which of you were screaming for joy, I later concluded it was both of you.
The battery restraint system is a bit crude, but everything else is perfect.

Yeah, that's not the battery size that i'll be using. I have to go pick up an Odyssey or something similar soon. Then I can finalize the firewall and battery mount.

I love Cameron's quip...something to the effect of "Are you sure about this? The car isn't even fully built."
From the mouths of babes....:)

Wow, using a small child for both a battery hold down and a data collection system. Chapman would be proud.
