I need to replace the ignition wires on my 1600 Xflow.
The Ignition wires previously on the car were labled 8-R (NGK). I'm assuming this was for 8mm wires. I picked up a set at a local auto parts store and see that they are 7mm wires. I installed them but the car is not running correctly (backfiring through the Weber Carbs).
Could this be because the wire size is different? I'm thinking the 7mm wires were for the original ignition setup and I have a Crane Electronic ingnition now, thus maybe the 8mm wires needed.
If true, is there an alternate car to locate 8mm wires that fit? Some more modern 4 cylinder car that the parts store can actually locate in their computer. Comments?
