Anyone have experience with Hankook Z212 vs. Falken Azenis rt-615 in 195 60/14 size? I need street tires that can also do track days. My next step is four new rims and Toyo R-888 but want to put that off til next year.

I use 205/45-16 Hankook Z212 to replace the original Avon on the Caterham. I am happy with the tire especially the price.

I ran the Falken RT 615 and really like them. Price is usually pretty decent on both. I know that Grassroots Motorsports has ranked the Falken #1 for tire catagory for the last 2 years.

Thanks for the input. Two Texas 7 drivers have positive comments from their experience on both tires. The links and reviews on Grassroots were also helpful. It appears the Falkens might do best for my touring/ minor track day use.

Driving a 7 is a choice we make for a specific seven-ish drive, and then we still have to compromise on what we use on it to make it our 'Seven'.
Go figure... Enjoy what you drive with any rubber, as other unfortunates with conventional rides have no clue.

Vulcantire.com has them (RT-615) for $59 each if you can wait a couple of weeks (currently backordered until mid-May).

hi!

i have extensive track experience with the Z212 Hankook (on a tin top, not a Seven); they hold up extremely well to track duty; no chunking or melting or falling apart (this on a 2800 lb FWD car). good grip, for a street tire. good in the wet, when fully treaded. practically unbeatable pricewise!!! i recommend it.

good luck.
