Not everyone is a "small" person. After lusting for a seven for most of my automotive life, but never fitting into one, along come a little book by a "Mr. Champion". While my build is not exactly 100% original looking, I can at least get my "mass" into the seat and drive! It's based on a 76 Datsun 280Z (yes complete with the big long lump six) . At least it is in the right spirit!http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1343280965_car build 001.jpghttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1072965558_car build 002.jpghttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/642328262_car build 003.jpghttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/294566506_car build 004.jpghttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/94606515_car build 005.jpg

Thanks Martin!
The louvers are the originals out of a 81 280zx turbo hood ( someone had installed them in the hood on the 280z donor car i used)
I work as a mechanic professionally but body work is a "dark art" to me so I had a local painter shoot it at his shop.
since the pictures were taken I have upgraded the rollbar to 1 3/4" tubing, crossbraced and with a support for the 5 point harness on the drivers side. swapped out the 4 speed for a 5 speed and I also swapped out the wheels for minilite clones and unshrouded the exhaust and put a chrome heat shield on the muffler. I am currently thinking of swapping out the jaguar gauges for better (and more accurate) aftermarket units. I'm also getting ready to adapt a larger throttle body to the intake to increase the air flow into the engine. The car is heavier that a stock locost build (approx 1700lbs.) but still lighter that a stock z so performance it better. Stock hp is stated at 135 (optimistic) but the torque is where this car makes the difference, a 3000 rpm roll on is just a pure adren. rush.

I know Julian and he does drive his Se7en. It is nothing for him to go on a 300 to 400 trip on a weekend. He really puts the miles on it. Plus it goes like stink! And sounds like no other. Russ

I like the nose cone .. and the wooden dash! It has standout character!!

I looked at those fender lights one time .. then ended going with LED torpedo lights.
