Not sure how many are familiar with the Grassroots Motorsports $2007 challenge. The premise is to have a competition for the best overall race car for no more than $2007 parts investment. It's been going on for a few years now. Anyway, some good friends of mine back in Cincinnati entered this year and ended up winning overall, taking the autocross, concours, and best engineered honors. The drag race normally held had to be scrapped due to rain that day (which was fine with them since it would probably have been their weakest event).
They built a sucker car and paid homage to the Chapparal 2J, naming it the Cheapparal 2J2 :d. Here's a video of my friend, Cliff, talking about the car with some brief footage of the autocross:

Wish I was still in Cincinnati; I'd have loved to work on it with them.
