Okay folks, it is official!
All Lotus Sevens and LSiS vehicles are welcome in the Lotus corral/paddock being arranged by the Lotus East folks.
To get parking in the paddock (which beats parking in the remote lots), you have to buy tickets via www.limerock.com and use a few passwords that I will forward to you upon request. If you already have tickets, you need to call Donna at LRP and tell her you're part of the Lotus group.
Not only will you save 10% on the weekend pass, but you'll get some great little goodies TBD. Oh, and get this, the possibility of a Parade Lap on Saturday late AM. Since the track is prohibited from racing on Sunday, that is traditionally the car show. All Se7eners are welcome to enter...$30 entry fee, but some great prizes (including a Rolex Daytona watch!)...may even have a separate class for Se7ens.
If you are interested, it's imperative to chime in here so we can tell them how many from our group are coming (for logistics purposes).
Here's who I have so far:
Bruce W. - Birkin, CT
xflow - Caterham, NY
t39 - Caterham, NY
Jon C - Caterham, NY
Lance M - Caterham, PA
Al N - Caterham, NJ
Ken G - Lotus S4, NY
I have additional details that I will share with these folks. If you are intending on coming, please set up housing ASAP. I am staying in Hillsdale NY with friends (who have an esprit) and am planning on being there both days (don't know if I'll enter the official car show, though!)
---
BTW, contrary to appearances, we're still looking for a NE regional coordinator!:leaving:

I'm still planning on being there. Depending on the weather forecast, I think I will either camp or stay with a friend down in Stamford (assuming he is around that weekend which remains to be seen).

This just in...if you want to buy the full weekend (Friday-Monday), you need to call Donna Lloyd at LRP directly: 86-435-5000. Tell her your with the Lotus Group.
Note that the Corral is only for Sat and Sun.
Sat, Sun, and Monday tix are available online through the affiliate program.

My name is Thomas Walko. I will be bringing my Lotus Europa Race Car to Limerock not to race as I am retired but to put in the Sunday show on the main straight and also to try to sell it. Please let me know more about the Lotus Corral. Thanks!

Attention anyone going to Lime Rock for the Labor Day weekend - most of the hotels/Inns/motels in the imediate area are requiring a 4 day minimum stay - unless you are a regular there. If they will give me just a Saturday night and the weather looks good I will see you guys there - BRG Birkin with yellow stripe on hood/nose.

May not be able to bring the Seven after all. This morning while getting ready to take it in for NYS State Inspection I discovered that the spacer boss for the damper and radius arm connection to the rear axle has broken loose. This was repaired following my deer incident and it looks like the repaired weld gave up.
So, unless I can get the axle out, find someone to re-weld it, get the whole mess back together this weekend, and have inspection done next week it's not looking good.
I'll still be there, though.

After a weekend spent pulling the axle out, hopefully I'll still be able to bring the Seven. The bracket's getting re-welded tonight or tomorrow by a guy from work then hoping I can get everything buttoned back up, brakes bled, and a shakedown drive in time to drive out Friday.
Where's the fingers crossed simley? :)
Anyone else planning to go on Friday?
Al Navarro

FRS 7 Subchannel 7?
I'll try to remember to keep my radios turned up this time...unlike at Carlisle...:banghead: Also we should feel free to write a note and tuck it under the wipers since there's no cel service up there.
I know of at least one other Sevener from my neck of the woods who is coming, Karl D in his blue and ali S2. Great guy.
I'm towing up on Friday to Lenox MA. Feel free to honk and wave if you see Orange on a trailer on the NY Thruway.
Planning on getting to the track early on Sat and staying for just about the whole day. I'll find out when most of the Lotus Club guys are going to be there and what's up with the parade lap (timing wise).
So far weather looks good...but then again, it looked good for my auto-x debut!

It could happen! That we meet in Tennessee at a gas station, after a 11 hour drive with no prior planning or physical experience was serendipitous . The cognitive changes as a result of that stimulus was an expreience that I will never forget. Have fun at Lime Rock.

Bob-How true! I remember stopping there and saying to my wife, "That's got to be Bob Drye...he's got some massively powerful Nissan Motor."
Then we left and my trailer threw a rock into Scott L's windshield and the rest of you proceeded to run away from me despite the fact that you many of you were towing too.:d

This just in from the Lotus Corral organizers:
"Lotus corral Saturday, parade laps scheduled for 11:30 am.
You must be by the car at 11:00am. We will have signs in the corral indicating times. Also PA announcements at 10:30 and 10:45 telling all Lotus clubbers to return to their cars. We are on a tight schedule due to other club laps and other track activities during the lunch break.
Plan to get to LRP by 9:30. Look for signs to Lotus corral."

Excellent! Against all odds, I managed to get my axle re-welded this week and the car back together last night, so I will be there in the Seven after all :hurray: (provided something else doesn't fall apart on the way there this afternoon  :) )
Of course, the repairs used up all of the time I had allotted to get the car shiny and pretty, so no making fun of how dirty, neglected, and unpolished it is. :toetap:
Looks like the weather will be about perfect. Looking forward to meeting everyone who's going.

I'm a bonehead. Nearly forgot my steering wheel in the garage AND did forget my FRS radio. So don't try to reach me via radio.
I'll be at the park between 9 and 9:30. Y'all know what my car looks like.

A beautiful day at Lime Rock. I think 8 Se7ens made it out today, including some folks I'd never met before who seem interested in the club. Great to meet xflow7 and see his lovely live axle. And Karl D., from my neck of the woods, I finally got to give him the bottle of wine I owed him from a few falls ago - when he saved my bacon when I blew a hose on a local blat with him. Ken G. was there too, with his "farthest driven to 7-7-7" S4. Ken and his group of friends are a fun group. Where was Bruce W? I wonder if he got his car together in time? And if not, I'm sure he would have come in Nancy's Mini anyway....hmmm, I hope he's alright.
Mostly Caterhams, with 2 Birkins, including one from NJ that showed up after the "parade" lap. I use quotes because the pace wasn't all that slow. I will refrain from further detail on the grounds that it may incriminate many...let's just say certain gaps opened up in the formation that had to be closed, quickly :d
I'm going to be at the car show tomorrow from 10 to noon, leaving Orange in the corral. Then an afternoon doing something the women want to do.
Oh, I forgot to mention there was a photo finish between a Seven and an Aston Martin DB in the 6th race of the day...they traded leads a bunch and it literally came down to the wire. We left before the final result were announced.
FWIW, I could see a regional next fall based around the LRP Vintage. Some great country roads up here. No SUPER SCENIC vistas or major elevation changes like PNW, but fun nonetheless.

Great weekend and I had a ball. It was great to finally meet some of the crew and ogle at your cars. Al politely neglected to mention in his post the fact that my car was positively filthy and generally a pariah on the attractiveness of the Corral. :o
I was impressed by the turnout for the Corral on Saturday. That was great to see.
The Seven/DB battle was terriffic, although I am embarrassed to say I don't remember who won!

From your pics .. I count more than 8 .. maybe 10+?
Is the one with the sideways headlights a S1?? Are they skinny and is there any advantage to turning them sideways anyway??

Rob-The cars near the end of the photo dump are racers, so I didn't count them as they were not up in the Lotus car corral, but rather down in the paddock. I actually didn't talk to any of the racers. I assume the lights thing is for aero reasons...Bart Lami doesn't run lights at all o his track only Caterham.-Al

looks like saturday was the day to be present. ihave a bunch of pics to resize. a bunch of the Cossies. Dave, thanks for following me and my friend leaving LRP and down US7 for a while.
edit: as for a long weekend meet, i have not really found Ct cops to be forgiving as what we expeirenced at TotD. from what i've seen the area is not really geared for us, unless Bruce and some other locals say otherwise.

Well, I didn't quite get my Birkin done in time, but I was able to make it up for the car show on Sunday. Nancy and I drove up in our '64 MGB and my youngest Lauren and her boyfriend also drove up with us. We parked in the British car corral near the Lotus corral and hoped to run into Al and the rest of the gang, but never saw anyone. We were bummed!!
Well, there was a pretty impressive bunch of cars in the show AND the parking lot!! Thought I would share a few.
Here's a shot of Nancy and Lauren near Al's car just to prove that we were there (sorry about the finger prints!)
