So, with nothing better to do on I 81 for 300 miles today, I figured I might as well see what gas mileage I'm getting. Staying at around 75 -80 I averaged 32 mpg. At the (ahem) speed limit it would probably be closer to 35 mpg.
I guess at close to 130 degrees in the 'office' your mind turns to such mundane things...
Hope everyone got home safe.
Steve.

Hi Steve, glad to hear you made it back OK.
32 MPG is NICE! The only time I measured mine was on my recon trip to skyline before our cruise last year. on a mix drive that included some mountain roads, and some highway, I averaged 26 MPG

That's pretty amazing, Mazda, considering you've got all those extra cylinders and horses under the hood... maybe its a weight thing (the car, not you :d )

I'm sure it's not the weight, nor the right foot.
LS1's are generally very fuel efficient. It's not unusual for me to get 31+ MPG in the vette while cruising on the highway.
I doubt I can get close to that mileage anymore in the Rotus with the bigger wheels, and head/cam package.
